How Your Body Wants to Be Supported During Birth

These determination-specific guides support your nervous system before labor begins — based on how your body is designed to digest intensity, contact, and experience.

This is not a birth plan.

It’s an orientation your body integrates during pregnancy.

Designed to be read before labor

No Human Design knowledge required

Takes under an hour to integrate

New here? You don’t need to know Human Design — you’ll be guided step by step.

Why This Matters Before Labor

Birth is not the moment to figure out what your body can or cannot tolerate.

These guides are meant to be integrated during pregnancy — so your nervous system doesn’t have to negotiate fear, control, or overwhelm once labor begins.

This is preparation through removal, not instruction.

  • Birth isn’t something the body thinks through.

    It’s something the body digests.

These determination-specific guides are designed to support your nervous system during labor — based on how your body is designed to take in, process, and respond to experience.

Rather than universal birth advice, each guide focuses on:

    • the conditions your body needs to feel safe

    • what helps labor unfold without resistance

    • what can create overwhelm, tension, or shutdown

This is not about managing birth.

It’s about protecting the conditions that allow your body to do what it already knows.

  • No.

You don’t need to study Human Design, or understand charts to use your guide.

Human Design is simply the framework I use to identify how different bodies process experience.

Inside the guide, everything is translated into clear, grounded language that speaks directly to the body.

You’ll be guided step by step:

    • how to find your digestion type

    • what it means in the context of birth

    • how to apply it in real life, with your partner or birth team

This isn’t about learning a system.

It’s about listening to your body with the right lens.

Most people read this guide in one sitting.

  • These guides are:

Personalized birth support based on how your body processes intensity and stimulation.

In Human Design, your determination describes how your nervous system takes in and digests experience. During birth, this affects what feels supportive — and what creates resistance.

These guides help you identify what your body cannot digest in the birth space — fear, control, excess input, or misplaced support — so it can be removed before labor begins.

    Each guide offers:

    • clear insight into what helps your body stay regulated

    • simple language you can share with your partner or birth team

    • a way to prepare without managing, controlling, or overthinking birth

This is support meant to be integrated during pregnancy, not referenced during contractions.

    These guides are not:

    They are not birth plans.

    They are not medical advice.

They are not techniques, protocols, or instructions for “doing birth right.”

They won’t tell you how your birth should look.

    Orientation is different from information.

Information adds more to think about.

Orientation helps your body recognize what’s correct — so it doesn’t have to decide under pressure.

If you’re looking for more information, this may not be what you need.

If you’re looking for orientation, this guide was created for you.

This guide is most supportive when read during pregnancy, before labor begins.

  • Birth is one of the most intense sensory experiences the human body can undergo.

It involves sustained physical sensation, emotional vulnerability, relational contact, sound, touch, decision-making, and loss of control — all at once.

Your nervous system doesn’t respond to birth based on ideas or preferences.

It responds based on what it can digest.

In Human Design, digestion describes how your body takes in and processes information and experiences (not just food). During birth, this determines:

    • what helps your body stay open and responsive

    • what causes contraction, resistance, or overwhelm

    • how easily body intelligence can take over when thinking falls away

When something enters the birth space that your body cannot digest — fear, excess input, control, or misattuned support — the system doesn’t ignore it.

    It tightens.

    It resists.

    It tries to protect itself.

This is not a failure of mindset, preparation, or willpower.

    It’s a physiological response.

Understanding your digestion allows you to prepare by removing what interferes, rather than adding more to manage.

When the body is supported according to it’s unique design, it can do what it already knows how to do.

These guides help reduce interference — not by force, but through alignment.

This kind of preparation can only happen before labor begins.

  • Each guide corresponds to one digestion type.

If you already know your digestion, choose the guide that matches it.

If you don’t, the next section includes a free chart calculator to help you find it — step by step.

You don’t need to understand Human Design to use these guides.

  • These guides are meant to support, not replace, your inner authority or medical care.

Common Questions

  • You only need one guide — the one that matches your digestion type.

Every person has a single digestion, and each guide is written specifically for that nervous system pattern.

Once you find your digestion using the calculator, choose the corresponding guide. There’s no need to purchase more than one.

  • These guides are designed to be read during pregnancy, not during labor.

They’re most supportive when you have time to integrate the orientation into your nervous system — so you already know what your body needs when labor begins.

This isn’t something to reference between contractions.

    It’s preparation that happens beforehand.

  • Both.

This guide isn’t about location or birth preferences — it’s about how your body responds to intensity, stimulation, and support.

Whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, or something in between, understanding what your nervous system can and cannot digest helps you create a birth space that supports instinct rather than interferes with it.

  • Yes — an accurate birth time is important for this guide.

Your digestion in Human Design is calculated using precise birth data, including time and location. Even small differences can change the result.

If you know your birth time within the hour, you can check a small range of times in the calculator to see whether your digestion changes. In many cases it does not — but sometimes it does.

If the digestion remains the same across that range, you can feel confident selecting the corresponding guide.

  • No.

This isn’t a technical or instructional guide.

It’s written in clear, grounded language meant to support regulation, not add more to manage.

Most people read the guide in one sitting.

It’s designed to be absorbed, not studied.

  • Yes —there is even a partner/support specific section.

The guide includes language that helps you communicate your needs clearly, without needing to justify or explain them.

Sharing this orientation can help your support team understand how to be present in a way your body can actually receive.

  • If you’re a doula or birth professional supporting multiple clients, there is a separate option available.

At the end of the individual guide pages, you’ll find an option to access the complete Birth Digestion Workbook, which includes all digestion-specific guides in one reference resource.

This option is designed for those who want a comprehensive understanding of how different nervous system digestions experience birth.

If you’re preparing for your own birth, you only need the single guide that matches your digestion.

Each person has one digestion. Choose the guide that matches your body below.
